These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Royal Greenwich Dry Cleaners. By leaving any item with us for cleaning, alteration, repair, pressing or storage, you agree to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where such exclusion would be unlawful. Subject to applicable law, liability is limited strictly as set out below. All items are accepted and processed on the basis that cleaning and garment care involve mechanical action, moisture, solvents, detergents, heat, pressing, and finishing techniques which may affect fabrics in unpredictable ways. Customers acknowledge that certain materials, dyes, interlinings, adhesives, trims, beads, sequins, prints, coatings, and finishes may react adversely despite the exercise of reasonable care and skill. Possible outcomes include shrinkage, stretching, colour fading, colour bleeding, distortion, loss of shape, seam slippage, bubbling, delamination of fused components, and weakening of fabric. Such outcomes may occur due to inherent characteristics, age, wear and tear, manufacturing defects, or prior damage and shall not in themselves indicate negligence.Items are cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s care label instructions where present. Where no care label is attached, or where the label appears inconsistent with the garment’s condition, we will use reasonable professional judgement. In such circumstances, the Customer accepts that the risk of adverse reaction is materially increased. We are not responsible for damage arising from inaccurate, missing, or misleading care labels, undisclosed defects, or unknown fabric composition. We do not guarantee stain removal or restoration of colour, texture, or structure. Some stains may be permanent or may become more visible following cleaning due to oxidation, prior attempts at removal, or the nature of the substance. We are not liable for failure to remove stains that are set, aged, chemically altered, or previously treated.Alterations and repairs are undertaken strictly in accordance with the Customer’s instructions. The Customer is responsible for providing accurate measurements where fittings are not conducted by us. We are not liable for dissatisfaction with fit where measurements are provided by the Customer. Certain fabrics, including but not limited to silk, lace, leather, suede, stretch fabrics, delicate weaves, vintage garments, and embellished items, carry an increased risk during alteration. We are not responsible for structural weaknesses, seam failure, fabric fragility, colour mismatch of replacement materials, or damage to decorative elements revealed or occurring during alteration where reasonable care has been exercised. Once alteration work has commenced, the original condition of the garment cannot be restored and cancellation is not permitted. Refunds will not be issued unless we have failed to exercise reasonable care and skill.Customers must inspect items at the time of collection. Any concerns must be reported within 48 hours of collection and before the item is worn or used. Failure to notify us promptly may prejudice our ability to investigate and may result in refusal of the claim where the condition of the garment has materially changed. We reserve the right to require independent inspection of any item subject to complaint.Where we are found legally liable for loss or damage, our primary remedy shall be to re-clean, re-press, repair, or otherwise rectify the item at our discretion. Only where rectification is not reasonably possible will other compensation be considered. Proof of purchase or evidence of value may be required. unless required by law. We do not accept liability for sentimental value, consequential loss, indirect loss, loss of business, loss of opportunity, event-related losses, or distress.Items with a replacement value exceeding £100 must be declared prior to processing. Failure to declare high-value items may result in compensation being limited to a maximum of £100 per item where legally permissible. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to belts, buckles, buttons, beads, sequins, decorative trims, zips, shoulder pads, or other detachable or fragile components unless specifically noted and itemised at the time of acceptance. Loose items left in pockets are processed at the Customer’s risk.Items not collected within 90 days of notification that they are ready may be sold, donated, recycled, or disposed of without further notice to recover storage and processing costs. We reserve the right to refuse service for items that are heavily soiled, contaminated with hazardous substances, infested, malodorous, or pose health and safety risks, as well as items which, in our professional opinion, are likely to be damaged by cleaning.
